The Passover Lamb, by Linda Elovitz Marshall

Song – Mary Had a Little Lamb

Mary had a little lamb
Little lamb, little lamb
Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went
Mary went, Mary went
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go

He followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
He followed her to school one day
Which was against the rule

It made the children laugh and play
Laugh and play, laugh and play
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school

Activities –
  • Make a Lamb Collage –
You will need paper, glue, cotton balls/toilet paper/tissues, crayons or markers.  Find some cotton balls or rip and ball up some tissues or toilet paper.  Glue them onto your paper to make a lamb.  If you have pom poms or want to color your cotton balls, you can have a colorful lamb!  If you would like, draw in some legs and any other features your lamb might need and a scene where your lamb can play.

  • Sing Old MacDonald and Chart Your Animals –
What animals will you include in the song?  After you finish singing and making the animal noises, can you move like the animals?  What animals did you include on your farm?  Can you chart them?  (You can use the “Animals Included on My Farm” pdf.)  How many did you include?
  • Build a fort –
Get some blankets and pillows and build a fort for your farm animals.  Bring some books and some animals in with you.  Can you read to your animal friends?  What else can you do in your fort?  Is it ok to have a snack there?  If not, what about a pretend snack?  What will you serve your animals?
